The Fatal Gravity

Unchallenged grief
Betrays these sterile halls
That press down with penumbral weight
To deny every vestige here
Of that fatal human gravity

In this happy place
Where reach at last
Does fail all perverse grasp
And perjured promises drip with honey
To extinguish even the coveted repose
