Time’s Arrow

Seasons changing, twist and race
Seasons journey on unchecked
She waits for a flowered wind
She waits for the seed to grow

In the bright season she kneels
In a wood of blackened boughs
Three arrows in her quiver
Three arrows out of their time

Backwards she watches, she waits
Backwards she knows he will come
An arrow is fair exchange
An arrow offered for time

Forwards she watches, she waits
Forwards she knows he has come
Time’s arrow bent on her wind
Time’s arrow swift in her dream
